Creating a human resource system application with features similar to competitor applications.

Competitor app research: 4 examples of apps according to the main objective to find the features that will be used for the project.

Of all the research on the main functions for this project, only those that meet the client’s requirements are included: employee database, benefits administration, and payroll management.

This study aims to identify the features of competitor applications that are suitable for the project being developed, including four applications: Kerjoo, Mekari Talenta, Odoo,and  SPISy10.

1. Employee database

The employee database focuses on social security numbers, previous employment details, and contact information for each employee. From here, we’ll identify suitable features from four competing applications for the project.

The Kerjoo application features include: Work report features and profile features.

The Mekari Talenta application features include: the Employee Info feature (main account) and Employee features.

The SPISy10 application features include: the Inbox feature and the account menu feature.

The Odoo application features include: the attendance feature and the contract management feature.

2. Benefits administration

The next primary function of an HRIS is to manage employee benefits, including 401 (k) enrollment, life insurance policies, and healthcare programs such as medical and dental plans.

The Kerjoo application includes: Furlough feature (available on the main homepage).

The Mekari Talent application includes: Employee benefits features.

The SPISy10 application features include: a medical claim feature (on the homepage).

Odoo application features include: Furlogh management feature.

3. Payroll management

This final core function is used to manage employee payroll, pension contributions, bonus information, and healthcare deductions. This is a non-negotiable feature for those without a managed process.

The Kerjoo application has features that are in accordance with its functions, including calculating and paying salaries.

The Mekari Talent application has features that suit its function, including payroll.

The SPISY10 application has features that suit its function, including Furlough balance and salary slips.

The Odoo application has features that are in accordance with its functions, including: Not available.

Features to be created

From the 3 main functions of creating a project for HRIS, we have found features that suit the needs of the project to be developed as an illustration of what the menu on the dashboard for employees and the dashboard for admins will look like.

Of all the research on the 4 applications, only 1 HRIS application was used, namely Mekari Talent, which is suitable for the client’s needs, with the menu that will be entered into the dashboard.

The feature requirements for HRIS. co are login/registration, payroll dashboard + KPI dashboard, payroll menu (still subject to further research), and finally KPI (possibly divided per division).

The feature development team was divided into two teams. Jaya Raharja primarily handled the sign-in/sign-up and payroll dashboard. Then the next feature division work for me is the KPI dashboard, payroll menu, and KPI.
